At The Wiser Financial Group, I serve as one of our senior financial advisors, partners and year-to-date, the managing partner at The Wiser Financial Group. If you can believe it, this year marks my twenty-first anniversary with the firm, helping to provide financial advice to our clients throughout Southwest Michigan. In reflection of my time here at Wiser, I feel extremely grateful about the opportunity to work with such a dedicated team and feel blessed to be able to help so many clients in this area maximize their road to retirement and feel secure about how their whole financial future looks for the here and now – and the long-term. Since I started here, I can tell you one of the most rewarding feelings is knowing that a client is well taken care of, and that they feel confident about the next stages of their life.
Prior to joining The Wiser Financial Group, I served as a practicing attorney for many years, focusing primarily on estate planning and litigation matters. Serving as an attorney originally helped me realize how necessary it is for clients to work with a financial advisor early on. The longer you wait the more complicated it can be, and time is our best asset when it comes to planning for your future. Personally, I wouldn’t want to “wing-it” when it comes to retirement. We have all worked too many hours not to celebrate life in retirement. That’s my favorite part of the job: knowing my clients are going to enjoy their retirement. It’s the time of life they should truly be celebrating.
When I’m not vicariously living through my clients’ retirement stories, outside of work, I am blessed to be married to Robin, my bride of over thirty years. Robin and I have five wonderful children, Elena, Marielle, Riley, Elijah and Easton. While the majority of them are in graduate school or college, our youngest, Easton, is in high school at Portage Central.
When we are not at a tennis match for Easton, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing tennis at West Hills and spending time outside in Pentwater and Traverse City. I'm also a member of Southridge Church and involved in the middle school ministry.
